I spoke with a friend today, and while she was calm at the beginning of the conversation, her voice continued to rise. She kept getting upset about how personnel who trained for certain positions were not treating her like she needed. We all at some point have become frustrated with others lack of abilities and boy oh boy have our blood pressures rise to the occasions, our anxiety levels become very unstable and all because of something we had little to no control over. In all I always tell my friends to not stress over the things we can no longer control but here I go stressing over things taking meds to go to sleep, taking meds to feel normal during the day, just taking meds. Is the medicine helping or is it a cast, covering up what is going on in the inside? Think of it as you have unloaded the garage of all your household boxes but the box that has the most memories within it still sitting on the shelf. Do you remember what’s in the box?, Is opening the box going to cause the same amount of pain? Well, I tell you one thing whether you open the box it has to come down off the shelf at some point, for someone else to come into the home the box has to be removed. This analogy serves as a symbol for those of us allowing people to come in and out of our lives and we still holding on to baggage that we were afraid even to discuss.
